Educational Systems Theory

Property: Educational System Vulnerability

Definition:

"Educational system vulnerability is some connections when removed produce disconnectivity with respect to affect relations."

Comments:

An educational system is considered vulnerable if by removing one affect relation, then an element of the system would then become disconnected from the others.

Illustration:

Examples:

In Figure 1, if the affect relation from student 2 to student 1 is removed, then student 1 would become disconnected from the rest of the system, and therefore the system itself would be disconnected.

A common example of Vulnerability can be see in automobile engine. If the channel from the battery to the engine is disconnected, then the car will not start. In fact here are many channels in a car that if disconnected, will cause it not to start. This makes the automobile a very vulnerable system.

Hypotheses Containing the Property: Vulnerability

#60. If educational system vulnerability increases, then complete connectivity decreases.

#64. If educational system hierarchical order increases, then vulnerability increases and flexibility decreases.

#179. If educational system size increases and complexity growth is constant, then vulnerability increases.
